The magnificent modern Mankon Museum presents cultural and artistic productions of the kingdom of Mankon of Grassland Cameroon. The permanent exhibition, entitled “Arts, Heritage and Culture from the Mankon Kingdom”, presents some 179 objects grouped together in six thematic sections encompassing the kingdom ( Ala’Mankon; History; Art and power; Art and society; Exchanges and artistic Relationships; Creativity, artists and craftsmen ( Statues and masks, furniture, containers, costumes, personal ornaments, musical instruments and arms) The rich museum reserve equally harbours considerable amazing arts and craft objects that are occasionally exhibited. The collection of the museum presents in a plural perspective, a combination of history, ethnography, stylistic and aesthetic analysis, objects linked to rites, of prestige or more everyday uses, all charged with meaning but also identified characteristic shapes and all bearing memory in the treasures of kings, notables and sacred societies.
 
WHEN TO VISIT:
Mondays – Fridays: 08 am – 04 pm
Weekends: On appointment
Entry fees:
- Nationals : 1,000 FCFA
- Non nationals : 2,000 FCFA
- Students: 500 FCFA
- Pupils/children: 200 FCFA.
